Odd mass density
We for the first time propose the concept of odd mass density with a class of active metamaterial enabled by feed-forward control. The resulting nonconservative force breaks the parity symmetry and leads to rich wave dynamics, including nonreciprocal wave coupling in 1D and directional wave amplification in 2D.
